Maybe you or your organization would like to learn more about photography or social media?

In today’s ultra-competitive business market, it is crucial to learn how to rise above the noise and stand out. I firmly believe that you can do that while keeping true to yourself. Being intentional about how you express yourself and interacting with vulnerability can help make you a better photographer and storyteller.

Since 2001, I have taught children, teens, and adults in diverse settings, such as private and public schools, universities, prisons, and community programs. I help students uncover their vulnerability so they can lead more intentional and fulfilling lives.

My teaching philosophy is founded on the research of Brené Brown, who says that although we may experience pain and other difficult emotions when we are vulnerable, expressing vulnerability creates more meaningful relationships. In translating this to photography, I seek deep connections with photo subjects.

I open myself up to subjects, and they usually do the same to me. This mutual bond and respect creates more truthful photographs that capture the subject’s essence. In my courses, I convey this philosophy and work with students to discover how they can create their own distinctive approach in connecting with their subjects.

Through harnessing your innate creativity, you will be a better problem solver in all areas of your life. Science demonstrates this. That’s why my courses focus on how to infuse more creativity, intuition, and vulnerability into your photography practice. Leading with vulnerability has made my interactions more fulfilling and my resulting photography work more compelling. My hope is it will affect you similarly.

Why work with me?

My photographs have been used by news outlets such as The Jakarta Post and Inside Indonesia and nonprofit organizations like Scientists Without Borders, Kopernik, Phoenix Collegiate Academy and Jeju Furey, among others. And my work has been exhibited in the US, Germany, and Indonesia.

After graduating with a BFA, I started traveling the world and became a lover of foreign cultures and new experiences. That’s why I’ve now spent more than a decade outside the US, living in Korea, Thailand and Indonesia.

I’ve taught photography in the US and Thailand and English as a second language, art and social storytelling in Indonesia and Korea.
